Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai announced that the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government would spray bio-decomposer free of cost on more than 5,000 acres of land to decompose stubble.
Development Minister Gopal Rai said free bio-decomposer will be sprayed by the government in all the Basmati and non-Basmati paddy fields inside Delhi.
The Kejriwal government has time and again said that this fight can only be fought collectively and all states must cooperate with each other, the minister pointed out.
Air pollution in Delhi has been found to be very severe between 10 October and November-end every year because of stubble-burning in the city's neighbourhood, he pointed out.
"WAPCOS went to 15 villages across four districts and interacted with 79 farmers. Based on that information, the Central government undertaking has said Delhi farmers are happy after using the decomposer and its results are encouraging," Kejriwal said while addressing a virtual press meet on Monday.
