The two leaders held bilateral talks at the Hyderabad House in the capital and discussed ways to deepen India-Indonesia relations in various domains, particularly defence and security.
Bilateral issues concerning economic ties, technological collaboration, and financial assistance were also discussed during the talks.
Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik of Oman is on a three-day India visit.
Visiting US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin held wide-ranging talks with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on bilateral defence matters ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's trip to the US.
"Special focus on science and technology, vaccine development and biotechnology," tweeted the Ministry of External Affairs.
Modi, who is visiting the US for the seventh time after assuming office in 2014, said his visit would be an occasion to strengthen the Indo-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership and consolidate ties with Japan and Australia.
The meeting will review the preparations for the forthcoming SCO summit and also exchange views on international and regional issues. the External Affairs Ministry said.
The two leaders are also likely to discuss an ambitious trade deal in future.
21st round of India-China border talks, led by Special Representatives (SR) National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and his Chinese counterpart and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, were held at Chengdu in China in November last year.
