Almost all the exit polls have predicted a win for the RJD-led Grand Alliance, which has projected Tejashwi Yadav as its chief ministerial candidate.
'When Mr Nitish Kumar declares that this will be his 'last election' he has effectively conceded defeat,' P Chidambaram said on Twitter.

The fate of over a thousand candidates will be decided in three phases of the vote for 243 seats in the state Assembly.
The first phase of the polls is scheduled on October 28 while the second and third phases will take place on November 3 and November 7 respectively.
'Drunk on power and arrogance, the government in Bihar has deviated from its path. Their words and deeds are suspect,' she said.
'Did Nitish Kumar give you jobs in 15 years, did he eradicate poverty? What happened to the promised government jobs?' he asked.
'In Galwan Valley, jawans from Bihar died for the country. Even in Pulwama, sons of Bihar lost their lives, we bow to them,' PM said.
