BHEL’s revenue shot up by 32.2 per cent to Rs 7,277 crore during the third quarter from Rs 5,504 in the same period of the previous year.
The order for the coal-based project, to be set up in the Koderma district of Jharkhand, has been awarded through International Competitive Bidding (ICB).
The Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) said on Wednesday that it has secured a Rs 3,500 crore order from Adani Power Limited for setting up a 1,600 MW thermal power plant (TPP) at Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
Through this project, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Kerala and Puducherry will also benefit with low cost Power.
The company further said work on the balance three units is also in advanced stage.
The company made the announcement in a BSE filing saying, it will execute this project on engineering, procurement and construction mode.
Taking aim at the Centre for its bid to privatise LIC, Mr Mitra said that an effort was being made to sell stakes in LIC.
The agreement is aimed to benefit both, BHEL and BEL as it will compliment strengths and capabilities of BHEL and BEL to develop and market products
