So far, the Delhi Commission of Women (DCW) has summoned the North Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on May 4 to explain the steps taken by it to prevent poisonous fumes from entering the houses of residents living nearby the landfill area at Bhalswa.
In addition, the four-member teams including DPCC, East, and North MCD have been given orders for the Mumbai tour on Monday, 2nd May to study the working model of Mumbai’s landfill sites gas sucking system.
In addition, all departments have also been instructed to conduct thorough investigations about the incident.
Ahead of MCD polls, AAP once again blamed the BJP-ruled Municipal Corporation of Delhi for mismanagement and its inability to clean the national capital -- one of the civic body's main tasks, over an incident of fire that broke out at North Delhi's Bhalswa landfill this Sunday.
In the month of October, the landfill caught fire which took four days to be brought under control, emanating highly toxic smog in its close proximity. AAP has blamed BJP-ruled MCD for playing with the lives of those residing in the vicinity.
