The massive rally was organised by the party in protest against post-poll violence and alleged killing of its workers and supporters.
The BJP had accused the TMC workers of killing three of its workers during the clashes that broke out on Saturday in the Najat area of Basirhat’s Sandeshkhali.
Party workers had clashed over taking off party flags on Saturday in which three BJP workers and one TMC supporter were reportedly killed.
The direction comes after the TMC, in a letter to the EC on Monday, alleged that the Central Forces were encouraging the BJP candidates by entering booths and influencing voters in West Bengal.
Violence erupted early on Monday morning in West Bengal as polling in eight constituencies began for the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
The TMC further said that the Election Commission has failed to ensure free and fair polling in a neutral manner.
