Sources said around 100 shepherds are still stranded in the remote area with flocks of over 8,000 sheep, goats and horses, and are waiting for snow to harden on Thamsar Pass.
The Kangra district officials conducted an aerial survey, including over the Thamsar Pass, Jalsu and Khalihani Pass, to search for people stranded, but no one was spotted.
The helicopter would be made available on Thursday as the shepherds are stuck due to heavy and untimely snow over Dhauladhar mountain ranges, said Chief Secretary, BK Aggarwal.
Over 500 shepherds from different districts of Himachal, who took their flocks of sheep (over one lakh) and around 500 horses, for grazing in sprawling green pastures of Bara Banghal are stranded.
