Asserting that Hindus and Buddhists are the branches of the same banyan tree, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Tuesday that if the two come together on a common platform, they would form the strongest banyan tree in the world, providing protection and unity to all.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday described the Mahakumbh as the biggest event in the world that symbolises unity. Emphasising the significance of Sanatan Dharma, he likened it to a banyan tree. "Sanatan Dharma is like a vast and majestic banyan tree. It should never be compared to mere shrubs or bushes," he stated.
The branches of the towering tree are now being impeded by concrete walls of an under-construction building, which is part of a project being developed by a real estate firm. Realising the threat to the tree that is part of the built heritage of Chandni Chowk, two local residents have even filed a petition in a court.
