Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government had already declared in Budget 2021-22 that vaccination to be provided free of cost to every eligible beneficiary and State would bear all expenses for the welfare of the general public, Sidhu said.
Sidhu said that mild symptomatic and asymptomatic patients need not be admitted to hospitals and choose the option for home isolation at the time of testing only.
Presiding over the review meeting of health department, Sidhu said that most of cases reported in Punjab are having the travelling history from other states and countries so as to prevent the community spread level, there is need to put focus on passengers especially coming from high risk states and countries.
Chairing the maiden meeting with heads of departments of all the wings of department, the minister said the people of the state don’t have to run from pillar to post to get these basic medicines and they don’t have to pay from their pocket to purchase these medicines from private drug stores.
