The government had on Sunday evening abruptly ordered reopening of universities, IITs, polytechnics and senior classes from 9 to 12 in schools in the summer zone of the UT. However, there was poor attendance as the students did not get timely notice and nor were the school managements geared up with the Covid protocols.
Students whose attendance will be calculated less than 75 percent will not be allowed to appear for the exams, as per the rule mandated by the CBSE.
The court’s query came while after a law student, afflicted with an infectious disease, was seeking a one-time waiver for shortage of attendance and permission to appear in exam but the Delhi University was not granting him the relief in view of existing rules.
