Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Tuesday wrote to Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena against alleged demolition of Hindu temples and Buddhist places of worship revered by Dalit community.
Lt. Governor VK Saxena on Tuesday accused Chief Minister Atishi of playing politics after she wrote a letter to him, claiming that the Religious Committee ordered the demolition of numerous religious structures all across the national capital.
Former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal, along with his wife Sunita Kejriwal, will launch the Pujari, Granthi Samman Yojana from the Hanuman Temple at Connaught Place on Tuesday.
In a strong rebuttal to Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena’s recent letter, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has accused him of engaging in “dirty politics” instead of focusing on the welfare and development of the national capital.
Chief Minister Atishi on Monday announced that bus conductors and drivers will face suspension if they do not stop the vehicles at designated stops to pick up the passengers.
Other than the CM, five cabinet ministers were also sworn in alongside her, as Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena administered their oath.
“In times to come, the BJP will conspirire with the LG to make electricity expensive in Delhi. I promise on behalf of the AAP and Arvind Kejriwal that we will not let the price of electricity increase in the national capital," she asserted.
Atishi will take oath as Delhi Chief Minister on September 21 as will the other Cabinet ministers along with her, stated AAP in a press statement.They are Saurabh Bharadwaj, Gopal Rai, Imran Hussain, Kailash Gehlot, and Mukesh Ahlawat, the party said.
There are indications that she may take oath, along with new cabinet ministers, on coming Saturday, sources added.
CM-designate Atishi met the injured people and their families at the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital here late in the evening.
