Delhi police have geared up for the smooth conduct of the assembly polls with adequate security measures ensuring the security of nominees carrying out rallies and road shows, as well as strict enforcement of the model code of conduct.
Nine nominations have been filed on Friday, on the first day of filing of nominations for the February 5 Assembly polls in Delhi.
The meeting, chaired by Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora, was attended by senior officers from Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, and J&K.
Ahead of the Delhi assembly elections, the BJP has sought suggestions from the residents of the city to be included in its ‘Sankalp Patra’ (manifesto). The suggestions can be made through phone and email.
Besides Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP president J P Nadda and General Secretary B L Santhosh had attended the meet at the Prime Minister’s residence. Chhatisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana and Mizoram will have Assembly polls, ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
