To facilitate the appeals, 200 new Foreigners Tribunals have been made functional from today, in addition to 100 already existing ones.

The final National Register of Citizens (NRC) list in Assam was published on Saturday including names of 3.1 crore people and leaving out 19 lakh names.
Indicating he has very little faith that the list would help get rid of foreigners, the minister said that he just wanted the NRC list publication process to pass off peacefully.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has said that those people whose names have been excluded from the proposed NRC would get an opportunity to file their appeals and be heard in the Foreigners' Tribunal.
The Supreme Court last month extended the deadline to publish the final NRC list by a month to August 31.
However, the excluded people will have the chance to file their claims at the designated NRC help centres by July 11.
Earlier this month, the Supreme Court made it clear that it will not extend the July 31 deadline for finalisation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam.
The direction came after Assam NRC coordinator said that many people, who had objected to the inclusion of certain individuals in the draft NRC are not coming forward before panels.
