Speaking at a public rally on the final day of campaigning for the second phase in Lower Assam, Sarma said he has shifted his focus to the 2026 assembly elections, setting an ambitious goal of winning 100 out of the 126 assembly seats for the BJP.
Addressing a gathering of party workers at the BJP office in Karimganj district in Southern Assam to kickstart his election campaign, Sarma highlighted the trend of candidates defecting from Congress to BJP post-elections.
575 people including 97 children from 10 villages under three revenue circles have been affected by the flood.
