Late on Monday, Rahul Kundu (75kg), Lakshay Rathi (+92kg), and Laxmi (50kg), Tamanna (54kg), Yatri Patel (57kg) and Shrusthi Sathe (63kg) emerged victorious as they enter the semi-finals in the youth category.
Brijesh (48kg) started the day for India in a hard-fought bout against Uzbekistan’s Sabirov Sayfiddin, with both boxers winning one round each as it all came down to the third round which the Indian won 4-3 after the bout was reviewed.
Naorem Chanu (51kg), Vinka (64kg) Sanamacha Chanu (75kg), Poonam (54kg) and Sushma (81kg) fetched the yellow metal for the country in a phenomenal sweep.
