The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has greenlit a USD 400 million policy-based loan aimed at bolstering urban services in India under Subprogram 2 of the Sustainable Urban Development and Service Delivery Program.

The project will also focus on training the Maharashtra Public Works Department project staff to build their capacity in climate change adaptation and disaster-resilient features in road design, road maintenance planning and road safety.
The loan amount will focus on immediate priorities such as disease containment and prevention, as well as social protection for the poor and economically vulnerable sections of the society, especially women and disadvantaged groups.
