The Congress party got a shot in the arm on Thursday when former Lok Sabha MP Ashok Tanwar, who had joined the BJP earlier this January and unsuccessfully contested the general election on the 'lotus' symbol, came back to its fold.
The former MP joined the BJP in the presence of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh at the party headquarters here.
Tanwar tweeted, "My commitment to serve people is sacrosanct! As a step forward in my pursuit of public service, I am glad to commit myself to Aam Aadmi Party, which has stood for honest politics and robust governance. My gratitude to Arvind Kejriwal for giving me this opportunity.”
Party will also focus on the city's Dalit and minority population by highlighting issues of the demolition of the Ravidas temple in South Delhi.
