Asaram, who walked out of jail after 11 years, will undergo ayurveda treatment at the Madhavbaug Hospital in the Khopoli area on the outskirts of Pune, officials said.
The Jodhpur High Court on Tuesday granted seven-day parole to self-styled godman Asaram Bapu, who is serving life sentence after being convicted in a rape case, for undergoing ayurveda treatment in Maharashtra.
A bench of Justices Ajay Rastogi and CT Ravikumar sought a response from the State of Gujarat and posted the case for hearing on September 7. "Issue notice returnable on 7th September 2022," the bench stated in its order passed on August 10.
He tested positive along with 12 other inmates in the prison.
