Art exhibition explores nature of human awareness

The 8th solo exhibition of Sujata Kar Saha marks a turning point in her career. The exhibition titled “Miles with the Subconscious” sees a significant shift from her work on abstract landscapes to deeply introspective works on issues like womanhood, aspirations and the intricate web of human relationships within the conservative fabric of society.
Celebrating 100 years of four Indian modernist masters, Francis Newton Souza, KG Subramanyan, Ram Kumar and V.S. Gaitonde, Progressive Art Gallery, in collaboration with the Raza Foundation, organised an exhibition titled “The Four: Celebrating the Birth Centenary of Four Modern Indian Masters”, on 29 October this year, which would be on public view till 10 November 2024 at Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi.
Emami Art is hosting three concurrent solo exhibitions, namely by Bholanath Rudra, Ali Akbar P.N. and Ujjal Dey at Kolkata Centre for Creativity.
Every photographer looks at his or her craft differently. For some it is an expression of their own thoughts and conflicts, while others look at it as simply an artistic tool.
At the exhibition, hosted by the city government’s College of Art, the Delhi education minister interacted with aspiring artists who displayed their artworks on the occasion.
This year the award-winning entries include artists from various cities in Karnataka, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and West Bengal whereas art students who won awards are from many cities in Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat and West Bengal.
"The show is a satisfying culmination of one year of artamour. Since its launch on October 9, 2020, our art blog ensured that art lovers did not lose touch with the world of art during the pandemic."
The exhibition was inaugurated by Justice K S Ahluwalia (Chairman of Railway Claims Tribunal), Ashutosh Gangal (General Manager Northern Railway), and Dinesh K Patnaik (Director General of Indian Council For Cultural Relations).
The exhibition displays 26 artworks by the artist that are from two different eras -- one from when he first dabbled into surrealism, and the other from what he calls the "Triunity" era, in which one major element is repeated three times in the painting.
