The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing crackdown against bribery, has arrested Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Prashotam Lal, posted at Police Station Aur, District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar on charges of taking bribe of Rs 15,000. He had been absconding for the last four months, evading his arrest in this case.
This was the first attempt to regroup these anti-India and terrorist outfits after August 2019 when top Hurriyat leaders were arrested.
Israeli authorities have arrested three United Nations workers trying to smuggle liquid cocaine into the country on Sunday in the guise of perfume-making kits. The arrests were made at the Jordan River Customs House along the northern area of the border with Jordan near Beit Shean.

The police from Khardaha PS in 24-Parganas (North) had shared a tip-off to the Kalna PS on yesterday morning and later a police team from Khardaha joined the Kalna PS officials and the joint team finally intercepted the alleged killers.
The complainant, who did not wish to pay the bribe, informed the vigilance which laid a trap and arrested the accused clerk red-handed accepting Rs 5000 in cash.
