Outgoing Governor Arif Mohammed Khan left Kerala bidding a farewell to the state with heartfelt remarks that Kerala would hold a special place in his heart and his association with it is lifelong.
Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan on Sunday defended the central government’s position on the delay in releasing relief for the victims of the Wayanad landslides, stating that assistance would be provided once the state submits proper accounts to the Centre.

The Governor said that the universities did not provide their representatives to the search committees despite repeated requests and therefore he proceeded further in the matter to perform his responsibility as the Chancellor of the universities in the state.
A single bench of Justice Muhammad Niaz annulled the nomination of four student representatives to the Senate, rejecting Khan's argument that he could make appointments to the Senate at his own discretion as he is the Chancellor of the varsity.
Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan on Wednesday has written to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, demanding the removal of Finance Minister KN Balagopal over recent remarks at a university, which he said were "seditious".
Stating that the chancellor cannot ask the vice-chancellors to resign based on the verdict of the Supreme Court, CM Vijayan said the orders of the apex court are applicable only to the vice-chancellor of the Kerala Technological University (KTU).
Raj Bhavan sources said the Governor has initiated this extraordinary move as his repeated directions to hold a Senate meeting and provide a nominee of the senate to the search committee for selection of Vice-Chancellor went unheeded.
The petitioner also seeks disciplinary action “against the delinquent police officers who had failed to register the crime in the said offence.”
Pinarayi Vijayan termed the press conference held by Arif Mohammed Khan at Raj Bhavan as unprecedented not only in Kerala but even in the entire country.
