At a day-long conference with district collectors and other senior officials at the Secretariat in Velagapudi, the Andhra Pradesh chief minister announced the launch of “Pedala Sevalo” (in the service of the poor) programme.
The under-construction buildings of the proposed state capital were damaged under the previous YSRCP government of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy that had abandoned the project.
He was welcomed into YSRCP fold with the traditional shawl in party colours.
The passengers from the state who were seriously injured will receive Rs 5 lakh while those slightly injured will get Rs 1 lakh. The compensation announced will be in addition to the ex-gratia provided by the Centre.
