Police in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh said on Thursday that the sedition charges pressed on 14 Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) students might be dropped since there is no primary evidence against them.
The students' union chief of Aligarh Muslim University was among 12 students slapped with sedition charges following an altercation between some students and the crew of a TV channel.
He said modern secular school education for the community is a must for its development.
AMU authorities had suspended three Kashmiri students last week who tried to hold the funeral prayers inside the varsity campus.
