'Chhari Mubarak' (Holy Mace of Lord Shiva) accompanied by a group of Sadhus left Camp Panchtarni this morning for Holy Shrine of Amarnath on the occasion of Shravan Purnima and reached Holy Cave at 11 am after performing Pujan at 'Amar Ganga'.
After it continued smoothly and peacefully during the last 52 days with nearly five lakh Yatris having ‘darshan’ inside the cave shrine, the annual Amarnath Yatra will conclude on Monday.
In connection with the ongoing Amarnath yatra, the Chhari Mubarak (Holy Mace of Lord Shiva) was on Sunday taken to Srinagar’s Shankracharya Temple as a traditional ritual of prayers before proceeding to the Amarnath cave shrine.
As more than 4.85 lakh pilgrims already performed the annual Amarnath Yatra during the last 35 days, a small batch of 991 Yatris left for the Valley on Saturday, officials said.
Over 4.51 lakh pilgrims have performed the ongoing Amarnath Yatra in the last 29 days, surpassing last year's record.

The Jammu and Kashmir government had cancelled the annual Amarnath pilgrimage due to Covid-19 pandemic situation in 2020 and 2021.
Former Chief Minister and MP Dr. Farooq Abdullah and deputy CM Muzaffar Baig were among those present in the meeting.
The first batch of pilgrims bound for the Amarnath cave shrine in the mountains of Kashmir will depart at 4 am from the Yatri Nivas Base Camp at Bhagwati Nagar here. Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha will flag off the heavily escorted convoy of vehicles carrying the pilgrims for the yatra.
