Over 1.44 lakh Yatris have performed the ongoing Amarnath Yatra as another batch of 5,449 pilgrims left Jammu for the Valley on Thursday.
Over 80,000 devotees performed the ongoing Amarnath Yatra so far as another batch of 5,726 pilgrims left Jammu for the Valley on Thursday.
Since Amarnath Yatra 2022 started on June 30, so far over 65,000 Yatris have performed the pilgrimage.
It is the Top priority of the administration to streamline the traffic for both Yatris and traders of fruits and vegetables, Lt Governor said.
The Virtual Pooja or Hawan would be carried out by the Pujaris at the cave shrine by pronouncing the Name and Gotra of the devotee along with chanting Mantras and Shlokas.
The Jammu and Kashmir government had cancelled the annual Amarnath pilgrimage due to Covid-19 pandemic situation in 2020 and 2021.
The Amarnath Yatra 2022 begins on June 30 and it will conclude on August 11 on Shravan Purnima coinciding with the Raksha Bandhan festival.
