A day after polling concluded for nine assembly by-elections, Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav wrote a letter on Thursday thanking the people of Uttar Pradesh for maintaining their morale despite alleged administrative pressure during voting.
“Earlier, engines were colliding; now, even the coaches of the so-called ‘double-engine government’ are clashing. After the Maharashtra elections, their own people will undermine the foundations of those who raised hollow slogans,” he remarked.
He said that those who gave the slogan 'One Nation, One Election' are now unable to even conduct a single examination, despite promising to hold record examinations.
The SP chief said despite all its efforts, the BJP government failed the break agitating students and had to bow in front of them passing the buck to the officials of the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission.

Even as Bharatiya Kisan Union ( BKU) was holding a massive protest in Meerut and even forcefully entered the Paratpur police station last night over anomolies in the election process in the sugarcane committees, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has objected to rigging of polls in the sugarcane committee elections and has held the ruling Uttar Pradesh BJP responsible for this anti-democratic work.
He charged that as long as the BJP continues to collect donations from pharmaceutical companies, the business of low-quality medicines will continue in the country.
The SP leader said that the BJP is scared of defeat and hence they are removing the BLO and appointing them on the basis of caste and religion.
