CM Yogi once again raised the slogan 'Batoge to Katoge' and asked the people to stay united.
Ahead of the counting day, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav on Friday said due to the alertness of the INDIA bloc, voters, supporters, workers, officials, leaders, candidates, entire PDA community and some honest media persons, the BJP was on a backfoot in these bypolls.
Yadav warned that a new and troubling form of democracy was emerging in Uttar Pradesh under the BJP rule.
A day after polling concluded for nine assembly by-elections, Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav wrote a letter on Thursday thanking the people of Uttar Pradesh for maintaining their morale despite alleged administrative pressure during voting.
“Earlier, engines were colliding; now, even the coaches of the so-called ‘double-engine government’ are clashing. After the Maharashtra elections, their own people will undermine the foundations of those who raised hollow slogans,” he remarked.
General elections were a collective victory of positive politics, INDIA bloc and his PDA's strategy.
The opposition-backed INDIA bloc won 16 out of 27 seats in the region, and the BJP-led NDA was restricted to 11 seats.
According to the poll results announced by the Election Commission of India in Uttar Pradesh, the SP has performed best in its history so far in the Lok Sabha elections by winning 37 seats.
For the first time since the 2017 elections, the Samajwadi Party, led by Akhilesh Yadav, has tasted success.
Watching the trend, it seems that the Bahujan Samaj Party's vote bank also went in favour of the Congress and the SP.
