Prayagraj’s Mahakumbh-2025 has entered its final stage, leaving behind a historic legacy shaped by the unwavering faith of crores of devotees, the divine presence of Akharas, and the blessings of revered saints.
A stampede-like situation unfolded on the morning of Mauni Amavasya at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, resulting in around 30 women being injured as they made their way towards the Sangam for the Amrit Snan, one of the most significant rituals of the festival.
In a move to support Akharas, institutions and Kalpvasis during Mahakumbh 2025, the Uttar Pradesh government has launched a subsidised ration scheme, offering flour at Rs 5 per kg and rice at Rs 6 per kg.
Traditionally dedicated to preserving ancient religious customs, these akharas are now aligning tradition with environmental responsibility, incorporating initiatives for ecological preservation into their practices.
