The Supreme Court will continue hearing a batch of petitions challenging the constitutional validity of the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025 on Thursday.
Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali, a member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), announced on Thursday that if the Waqf Amendment Bill is passed in the Rajya Sabha, the board will move to court and challenge it.
Terming the bill “discriminatory and communally motivated,” the AIMPLB spokesperson highlighted that “the points made by Opposition members were also not taken into consideration by the JPC.”
