As soon as Mayor Shelly Oberoi entered the house, councilors from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) started raising slogans demanding the appointment of the Mayor belonging to the Scheduled Caste.
Both houses commenced on July 29 and were scheduled to end on August 2.
The assembly also passed a bill paving the way for strict action against the people who leave their bore wells open leading to mishaps.

For the first time in this session, question hour was also disrupted after the Opposition raised slogans and insisted that the speaker should allow the adjournment motion brought in by an injured MLA.
Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania disclosed that a total of three meetings took place during the winter session of the Assembly.
The Monsoon Session of Parliament commenced on July 18 and will continue till August 12. There will be 18 sittings during the Session.
Shortly after Leader of Opposition in the Parliament Mallikarjun Kharge began addressing the issue amid chaos, Upper House Chairman Venkaiah Naidu adjourned the House till 2 pm.
