With 2,00,739 new Covid-19 cases, the country’s total tally of Covid-19 cases now stands at 1,40,74,564 cases of which 14,71,877 are active Covid-19 cases.

The country’s total Covid-19 caseload now stands at 1,33,58,805 of which 11,08,087 are active Covid-19 cases which compromise of 8.29 per cent of the total infections.
India recorded 56,211 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, 17 per cent lower than the day before, taking the total tally to 1,20,95,855 on Tuesday. Lower count of cases is a result of low testing.
Registering a steady increase for the 19th day in row, the active cases have increased to 5,21,808 comprising 4.33 per cent of the total infections, while the recovery rate has further dropped to 94.32 per cent.
So far, 5.31 crore doses of corona vaccine have been administered in the country since the drive began on January 16 after approval for 'Covishield' and 'Covaxin'.

According to the Health Ministry, Maharashtra, Punjab, Kerala, Karnataka, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh are exhibiting a steep rise in daily cases.
The cases increased by 6,968 from the previous day, the data shared by the Union Health Ministry showed. On Wednesday, the country had logged 28,903 cases of Covid-19.
