While air conditioning (AC) provides much-needed respite in the scorching summers when mercury is soaring high, its prolonged use may also raise several health risks including skin and respiratory problems, warned doctors on Sunday.
“It's too hot”, “I am melting”, and “It’s like we are inside a hot furnace” are probably what you get to hear the most nowadays.
Sudhakaran said humidity refers to the amount of moisture in the air. "In regions like North India, humidity levels can skyrocket, making the air feel heavy and sticky. High humidity can affect the air conditioner in several ways," he said.
The move to slash the ticket rates is expected to make air-conditioned local train travel more popular among the Mumbai commuters, ahead of the upcoming BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation elections.
The decision has been taken in view of sharp decline in production and revenue from 2012--2013 onwards.
These air conditioners will be available in stores from this month onwards. The new split AC range will start from Rs 35,990 and will go up to Rs 73,990.
