In his address, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral R Hari Kumar stated that INS Imphal possesses the distinction of being a shining symbol of the Indian Navy’s unflinching commitment towards achieving the vision of self-reliance in defence.
The DPSUs will undertake indigenisation of these items through different routes under ‘Make’ category and in-house development through the capabilities of MSMEs and private Indian industry.
The contract with Indian shipyards was inked for the acquisition of 11 Next Generation Offshore Patrol Vessels and six Next Generation Missile Vessels at an overall cost of about Rs 19,600 crore.
Of the three contracts, two are with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Ghaziabad while one is with NewSpace India Limited (NSIL).
The Greenfield Helicopter Factory of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) touted to be India’s largest helicopter manufacturing facility will be inaugurated in Tumakuru, Karnataka on Monday.
