As part of the campaign, party workers will reach out to city residents with a letter from Kejriwal telling people the "truth" behind his arrest and that of other party leaders in corruption cases.
Chief Minister Kejriwal is currently in Tihar Jail under judicial custody. He was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21 in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case.
"The new campaign is aimed at increasing public awareness about the fraudulent arrest of Arvind Kejriwal and to encourage them to vote for him," the AAP said.
"It is worth noting that the BJP has put up objectionable hoardings across Delhi. On Friday morning, the AAP had filed a complaint with the Election Commission of India regarding this," said the party.
AAP legislator from Baba Bakala (Amritsar) Dalbir Singh Tong was arrested for violating the model code by being present in the Jalandhar constituency during the polling.
The BJP wants to stop the AAP’s national convener from taking on PM Narendra Modi and BJP in the general elections 2024, said the party’s spokesman.
AAP Punjab chief spokesperson Malwinder Singh Kang said Opposition parties and their leaders don't have any actual issues because all they know is politics of hatred.
The party also appointed two State Vice Presidents, one State General Secretary, two State Secretaries, one State Treasurer, 10 different Wings Presidents and 14 District Presidents.
Surinder Kamboj, 67, has been charged with blackmailing a property dealer with a demand of Rs 10 lakh for settling a rape case against him.
