As part of the campaign, party workers will reach out to city residents with a letter from Kejriwal telling people the "truth" behind his arrest and that of other party leaders in corruption cases.
Chief Minister Kejriwal is currently in Tihar Jail under judicial custody. He was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21 in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case.
"The new campaign is aimed at increasing public awareness about the fraudulent arrest of Arvind Kejriwal and to encourage them to vote for him," the AAP said.
"It is worth noting that the BJP has put up objectionable hoardings across Delhi. On Friday morning, the AAP had filed a complaint with the Election Commission of India regarding this," said the party.
CM Bhagwant Mann, however, said the revised tariff won’t affect the common man as the increase would be borne by the state government.
After the meeting, Sushil Kumar Rinku addressed the media. He expressed his gratitude towards the AAP National Convenor, saying, "It was under Arvind Kejriwal's guidance that we were able to win the bypoll in Jalandhar."
The resounding victory, that too in the Congress bastion, has given AAP in general and Mann in particular a much-needed boost in the run-up to 2014 Lok Sabha elections due next year.
