The International Olympic Committee (IOC) named Paris as hosts for the 2024 Olympics.
Paris is seen as the favourite to win 2024, with Los Angeles likely being handed the 2028 Games.
In June, IOC bosses backed a plan to award both the 2024 and 2028 Games together.
Richardson has already said “time is right” for Twenty20 cricket's bid for the Olympics.
The move will not be final until a vote of the IOC's roughly 100 members in July.
The IOC is scheduled to award the 2024 Games at a meeting in September.
Paris bid committee co-president Tony Estanguet described Sunday's dialogue with the delegation "constructive."
"I'm right with you on your venture for the Olympics, Paralympics and the 2024 objective."
Paris bid committee will have to showcase the city to the IOC delegates without the head of state.
