Sixth Schedule: Layers of autonomy

This schedule makes separate provisions for the administration of tribal areas in Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura and Mizoram. The objectives are to maintain a distinct identity and exclusiveness of tribals and to keep away intrusive elements.
