Abhishek downplays competition with Gill & Jaiswal for T20I opening slot

Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who recently announced his retirement from International Cricket, is all set to make a return on the field. At a press conference, post his retirement, Yuvraj had expressed his desire to play for foreign leagues.
His wish has now been fulfilled. At the Global T20 league organized in Canada next month, Yuvraj Singh will make his debut. Yuvi is going to play for the Toronto Nationals in the league. On Thursday, he was included in the players draft list.

Interestingly, Yuvraj is not the lone Indian cricketer in the team. Manpreet Gony, best remembered in the Indian cricket circuit for his Indian Premier League (IPL) stint, also features in this side.
Organized in Canada’s Brampton, this is the second season of the Global T20 league. The matches will begin on 25 July whereas, the finals will be played on 11 June.
Notably, the tournament is organized by Canada Cricket.
Six teams will participate in the league
As many as six teams will take part in the league. This includes Toronto Nationals along with teams like Brampton Wolves, Edmonton Royals, Winnipeg Hawks, Montreal Tigers and Vancouver Knights.
The tournament is all scheduled to be played in a round robin-cum-playoff format.
A total of 22 matches will be played.
“After 25 years in and around the 22 yards and almost 17 years of international cricket on and off, I have decided to move on. This game taught me how to fight, how to fall, to dust off, to get up again and move forward,” the southpaw had said at a Press Conference in Mumbai while announcing his retirement.
Yuvraj will continue to entertain fans by participating in such leagues all around the world. Participation of such stars will also help in the promotion of cricket worldwide.
