Decision to axe hockey from CWG is sad news, says India forward Mandeep Singh
The Indian men's hockey team forward Mandeep Singh called the decision to exclude hockey from the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow ‘sad news’ for Indian hockey.
The freestyle wrestler, who helped India win the first-ever gold medal in the wrestling discipline in Commonwealth Games, also shared a picture of herself flaunting her baby bump.
Ace Indian wrestler and Commonwealth Games gold medal winner Geeta Phogat on Monday announced that she is expecting her first child. She took to her social media handle to share the good news.
The freestyle wrestler, who helped India win the first-ever gold medal in the wrestling discipline in Commonwealth Games, also shared a picture of herself flaunting her baby bump.
The first Indian female wrestler to qualify for the Summer Olympic Games captioned the picture, “A mother’s joy begins when new life is stirring inside, when a tiny heartbeat is heard for the very first time, and a playful kick reminds that little one is never alone.”

Geeta Phogat had married fellow wrestler Pawan Kumar in November 2016 and this will be their first child.
After her announcement, fans and friends have congratulated her on social media and showered their best wishes.
Post her brief stint in reality show “Khatron Ke Khiladi”, Geeta returned to sports but failed to qualify for Commonwealth Games in 2018 after losing to Pooja Dhanda in trials for the 57 kg category.
