Wolves part ways with manager O’Neil after loss against Ipswich
Wolves have confirmed the departure of manager O'Neil on Sunday following their 2-1 loss against Ipswich Town in the Premier League.
City peppered Wolves’ goal with shots from the kickoff, but could only find the back of the net once.
Manchester City were unable to see off a spirited Wolverhampton Wanderers side on Saturday as the Premier League newcomers held the defending champions to a 1-1 draw and Sky Blues fullback Kyle Walker was of the option that on another day, the three points would have been in the bag.
“We created a lot of chances to put more than one past them, but they are a well organised team and it’s going to be very difficult for teams to come here,” Walker expressed after the full-time whistle sounded at the Molineux Stadium.

“With five at the back it’s always going to be difficult to break people down. They’ve got people in key areas where we want to get… but Raz (Raheem Sterling) has hit the crossbar, Sergio’s hit the post and then the crossbar at the end so we’ve had enough chances. We need to be a little bit more ruthless and also as defenders we need to take responsibility on the second phase of free-kicks.”

The second half was particularly controversial for not only were City’s appeals for penalties waved away, Wolves’ strike shouldn’t have stood for replays showed that Willy Boly had clearly handled the ball.
Walker, however, refused to blame the referees for failing to spot the indiscretion as he stated, “I’ve heard that (it went in off the hand) but it’s hard for the referees to see everything, it was a goal that was given and we just had to get the equaliser which we did and we could have nicked it at the end.”
“We know it’s going to be tough. Obviously what we achieved last year was incredible, 100 points and winning the Premier League was a fantastic achievement but we’re not settling on that.”

“We need to go again, the players expect and the manager demands so much of us and we need to dust ourselves down. We’ve got a week’s preparation before the next game and hopefully we can get the three points at home,” the English fullback added.
