The 27-year-old, who is preparing for his first title defence against Kubrat Pelev, uploaded a video of himself sprinting on his Instagram profile on Wednesday.

On August 28, it was announced that Joshua (19-0) would face-off with Pelev (25-1) at the Principality Stadium, Cardiff in a bout that would be his first since his stunning triumph over Wladmir Kitschko in April.

Initially, the Olympic gold medallist was to fight the Ukrainian in a rematch but the 41-year-old put paid to those plans as he announced his retirement, leaving Joshua with no option but to face mandatory challenger Pelev.

Should he successfully defend his title against the 36-year-old Pulev, Joshua’s promoter has planned for him to have a bout with Luis Ortiz before going in for a unification fight with WBC champion Deontay Wilder.
