And Jorginho will have an opportunity to show just what Pep Guardiola’s men missed out when the Blues take on the Sky Blues in the Community Shield at Wembley Stadium on Sunday night.
Despite not making a flurry of signings under Sarri, Chelsea fans are optimistic that the coming season will be a fruitful one as their new coach has promised to bring back beautiful football to Stamford Bridge.
City remain favourites for the Premier League title, however, while Chelsea and Liverpool are expected to give them a tougher fight than they did in the previous campaign.
What remains to be seen is how Sarri will manage the club’s Premier League ambitions with Thursday night football as they are participating in the UEFA Europa League this season, unlike most of their domestic competitors.
