Just a day after Indian skipper Virat Kohli was honoured with the country’s highest sporting honour — Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award — the 29-year-old cricketer posted an emotional message on the photo-sharing application Instagram for his wife Anushka Sharma. In his post, Virat Kohli has said Anushka Sharma is the person who inspires him to push forward.

“The person that inspires me to push forward despite all obstacles. The person that guides me to do the right thing in life against all odds. The person that has changed me inside out and made me realise the power of true love. My strength. My soulmate,” Virat Kohli wrote on Instagram with a photograph of Anushka Sharma.

Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma was also present at the presentation ceremony in Rashtrapati Bhawan, when President Ram Nath Kovind conferred the honour on Virat Kohli.

Anushka was seen cheering for the Delhi batsman along with Virat’s mother Saroj Kohli, and brother Vikas Kohli. The elegant right-handed batsman is the third Indian cricketer after Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni to receive the honour.

Recently, while talking to Anupama Chopra, Anushka Sharma had opened up about her marriage. When Anupama asked the ‘Sultan’ actress about her marriage to Virat Kohli, Anushka said, “I am married to the world’s greatest man.”

Speaking about what keeps them ticking, Anushka said, “I think we are both not so attached to what we do. The other day someone asked me a question you know ‘power couple and two powerful people from your own industry. You know when you are together, how do you manage this and all’. And I thought to myself and I told them also, we don’t see ourselves like that. We start to see ourselves that way then there is something really wrong in the nature of our relationship.”
