Virat Kohli-led Indian cricket team retained the top spot in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test ranking despite their Test series debacle in England with 115 points.
England cricket team climbed one place to take the fourth spot in ICC ranking in the latest update by international cricket body after defeating India by 4-1 in the recently concluded Test series. England (105 points) replaced New Zealand (102 points) to take the fourth spot.

Before the start of India vs England series, Joe Root’s side was at number five with 97 points. English tea, gained eight points after outplaying India in their home series.

England won the first Test match by 31 runs at Edgbaston, Birmingham in the next home team outclassed the visitors to register a victory by an innings and 159 runs at the Lord’s. After the massive victory in the second Test, England lost the third Test at the Trent Bridge. England won the fourth and fifth Test by 60 and 118-run respectively.
England cricket team is now only one point behind Australia and South Africa in ICC ranking. Both South Africa and Australia have 106 points in the Test rankings and are placed at second and third spot respectively. Joe Root side will next face sixth-placed Sri Lanka in November.
