Don’t write off champions: Nathan Lyon on Kohli’s recent batting slump
The Australian team must be hoping to take advantage of Virat Kohli’s prolonged batting slump when the two sides clash in the five-Test series for the Border-Gavaskar trophy
Kohli also surpassed Tendulkar to become the quickest to score 10,000 ODI runs for India.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli said on Saturday cricket was just a part of his life and his family would always remain his priority.
Kohli, counted among one of the best cricketers in the world, is the only active batsman in the world cricket who can break India’s batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar’s record for most number of centuries.
“8 years down the line, priority would be family. Priority would be myself, Anushka and our family by then. Cricket would obviously be a part of my life always but I think family should be priority at all times because nothing is bigger than life. Cricket is a part of life, nothing should be bigger than life,” Kohli was quoted as saying by HT.

“I know people take life too seriously and be like… ‘if you don’t take cricket too seriously, then you’re not committed enough’. I don’t believe in all that. The larger picture always has to be life because whatever happens and may happen, you always come back home,” Kohli added.
“So I think the priority will be family, should be family. Cricket will be a very special part of my life, but it’s not the most important thing in life is the way I see it. I am blessed to be able to do it right now, it has to end one day. Eight years down the line, I think I will be totally focused on my family,” Kohli further said.
The stylish Delhi batsman recently overtook Tendulkar to become the fastest batsman to score 19,000 international runs. Kohli also surpassed Tendulkar to become the quickest to score 10,000 ODI runs for India.
Virat Kohli scored his record 39th ODI century in the just concluded limited overs series against Australia. Now, Kohli is just 10 hundred’s short form equalling Tendulkar’s record of most ODI centuries.
