India’s captain Virat Kohli came out of trouble on Thursday when the International Cricket Council (ICC) gave him a clean chit for using a walkie-talkie device during the first T20I against New Zealand in Delhi on Wednesday night.
A TV footage showed Kohli talking on the walkie-talkie at the dug-out of the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium.

“While walkie talkie is used by support staff to communicate between dug-out and the dressing room, Kohli had sought permission from Venue ACU manager before using it,” an ICC official, who didn’t wish to be named, told PTI.
Earlier, media reports called Kohli’s activity a violation of ICC regulations by using a communication device during a match.
However, Kohli had sought the ICC’s Anti Corruption Security Unit’s permission to use a walkie-talkie.
Under the captaincy of Kohli, India won the opening match of the three-match series by 53 runs to take a 1-0 lead.
