After Worlds glory, Indian men’s 4x400m relay quartet eye Asian Games gold
Fresh from their Asian record-shattering performance at the World Championships in Budapest last week, the Indian men’s 4x400m relay team…
At at the Ratina Stadium in Tampere on Thursday, Hima registered a time of 51.46 seconds in the final.
Congratulations poured in for Hima Das who on Thursday night scripted history by becoming the first ever Indian woman sprinter to clinch the Gold medal in women’s 400-metre international event. She achieved the feat at the IAAF World U20 held in Finland. Before Hima, no woman has won gold at any world athletics championship for any age category.
At at the Ratina Stadium in Tampere on Thursday, Hima registered a time of 51.46 seconds in the final.
Hima also did well in the earlier rounds, winning Heat 4 with a time of 52.25 seconds. Das emerged on top in the semi-finals as well, winning her race in 52.10 seconds.
