La Liga giants Real Madrid began their summer transfer window with a bang signing in players like Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic and Ferland Mendy in the initial stages of the transfer window. However, they were not successful in roping in any of their top targets. They also lacked clarity regarding the future of some players like Vinicius Junior.

Manchester United star Paul Pogba was one such player they wanted to draft in their side. They were also briefly in the race to bag Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) Neymar. While United demanded a whopping amount for their French star, Madrid were left behind in the Neymar race by arch-rivals Barcelona, who themselves could not get him in their team.

Madrid were looking to offload certain players too. Team manager Zinedine Zidane’s plans do not include Vinicius Junior and wanted to draft him out of the squad. However, club president Florentino Perez who convinced Zidane to continue having him in the side.

Despite the President’s insistence, it wasn’t quite sure whether Vinicius would play for the first team or relegated to the Castilla side. With Madrid, not quite able to get Neymar in their side, they had to continue with Vinicius Junior in the first team.

As per a report carried by Spanish sports magazine Don Balon, Vinicius seeked clarity regarding his future in the team and was desperate to get one of the top shirt numbers as well. However, he was informed that he would be part of the first team a day after the transfer deadline was over and was given the no 25 number jersey with the iconic No 7 jersey going to Eden Hazard.

This gesture has reportedly left the youngster unhappy and he would be pumped up to prove his manager wrong with powerful performances on the pitch.
