India cricket captain Virat Kohli on Friday shared a throwback photograph on Twitter which was a collage of two pictures contrasting the looks of 16-year-old and a latest Kohli. He, presumably, was talking about the change in his physical appearance over the years. While in modern-day cricket, Virat is one among the fittest cricketers in the world, there was a time when he was a chubby young kid trying to perform to the best of his ability.
He captioned the picture, “Me looking at my younger self going. #throwback #16yearsold.”
Perhaps Virat’s greatest contribution to Indian cricket is the raised fitness standards in the team. It is his dedication to remain fit and be at the top of his game that has helped him and fellow cricketers transform over the years.
One day prior to the skipper Virat, Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya had also shared a similar throwback picture of himself. Despite being a star cricketer presently, Pandya has not forgotten his old days when he was struggling to get an opportunity to be recognised and make himself known in the list of successful cricketers.
In the picture posted by Pandya, he can be seen standing on a truck with his fellow teammates. He captioned the picture, “To those days when I would travel in a truck to play local matches which has taught me so much. It’s been an amazing journey so far. Hell yes I love this sport! #DreamsDoComeTrue”
Star Indian opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan’s old picture had also gone viral a few months ago. Notably, Indian Cricket team’s ‘Gabbar’, Shikhar Dhawan had posted a throwback picture of him and Rohit. The picture must have been clicked when both the cricketers were only beginning their International careers. Dhawan who is now known to ace the bald look can be spotted with a completely different hairdo in this picture. Both Rohit and Shikhar are among the finest limited-overs cricketers in the world.
Meanwhile, India will play South Africa in the final T20I on Sunday at Bengaluru. India are already 1-0 up in the series and cannot lose the series from here.
