Following a three-wicket win over Sri Lanka at Kandy on Friday, cricketer Shikhar Dhawan appeared soaked in festival colours as he wished his fans and followers a happy Ganesh Chaturthi on Friday.

Chasing a small target of 237 runs, Dhawan and his opening partner Rohit Sharma gave India a solid start. Dhawan slammed 49 runs, while Rohit scored 54 runs in the rain-marred match that India won via Duckworth Lewis method.
From the cricket fraternity, former India coach Anil Kumble, Ajinkya Rahane, Gautam Gambhir and Suresh Raina also joined in the celebration on social media.

“May the blessings of Lord Ganesha always be upon you. Happy Ganesh Chaturthi. #GaneshChaturthi,” India’s bygone hero Gambhir wrote on Twitter.
“Ganesh Chaturthi Chya sarvanna subhecha. GANPATI BAPPA MORYA,” Rahane wished his fans ‘good wishes’ in his native Marathi language.
“HAPPY GANESH CHATURTHI,” India’s celebrated cricketer Raina tweeted with a picture of Lord Ganesha.
